
Thomson Scientific Hosts First ScholarOne European Manuscript Central User Conference

Thomson Scientific, part of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC) and leading provider of information solutions to the worldwide research and business communities, today announced that it successfully hosted its first ScholarOne European Manuscript Central User Conference on November 27, 2006 at the Royal College of Physicians in London. Over 100 publishers, editors and administrators representing over 50 different journals and publishers from the U.S. and Europe were in attendance.
Key members of the Thomson Scientific staff and representatives from John Wiley & Sons and PrePress Projects presented a host of topics including: core features and advantages of the Manuscript Central (MC) integration with Web of Science®, future direction of Manuscript Central, MC University and other training opportunities, running an efficient editorial office and establishing a digital workflow. An extensive Q&A session was held at the end of the day to answer various user product inquiries.
"I learned about features of Manuscript Central I had not used before and got new ideas about how to improve our editorial office," said an attendee, "It was very useful to meet other users and see how they use the product and to be able to put faces to names of Thomson Scientific employees."
